We keep vinyl grading straightforward so you know what to expect when your record arrives. The individual product description always takes priority, especially where a sleeve or record has a specific mark worth mentioning.
Mint — New & Sealed
A Mint record is new and factory sealed. It has not been opened or played by us. Because the record is sealed, the vinyl itself cannot be visually inspected without breaking the original seal.
Very Good — Pre-Owned
Very Good means the record is pre-owned. It may show normal signs of previous use such as light surface marks or sleeve wear, but it should remain a good, enjoyable copy. Any more noticeable issue that could affect your decision will be described in the individual listing.
Sleeves and packaging
Record and sleeve condition are considered separately. Older sleeves can show storage wear, creasing, edge wear, ring wear, stickers or other age-related marks even when the vinyl itself is in strong condition.
Why we keep grading simple
Grading can become subjective when too many near-identical categories are used. We prefer a clear description, useful photos and honest notes about anything you should know before buying.
Before you buy
Always read the individual listing as well as the grade. If a record has a specific condition point, pressing detail or packaging issue, the listing description is the most important information.
